Heathlands Garden Settlement SPD

Q3: Are there any issues and elements which you feel are inaccurate or missing?

Representation ID: 576

Received: 14/12/2025

Respondent: Mr Alister Andrews

Representation Summary:

Missing and inaccurate footpaths on maps. No answer on the road issues - A20 already very busy and back roads will become treacherous. CTRL power lines run through the site but no mention of these. Railway development needs to come first to show commitment to investment by all parties. Questions over waste water treatment works and receiving waters coping with additional loadings (and location of any potential new works at a suitable distance from existing properties). How will GP surgery cope? Limited info on archaeology (especially around the old chapel area). Loss of habitat - sand lizards and sky larks

Our response:

Objection noted.
Officers will check and amend the footpaths and power issues raised.
The SPD takes forward the requirements of Policy LPRSP4(A) of the Local Plan Review which established the necessary scope of infrastructure which is replicated in the SPD and includes the need for a new or improved wastewater works, transport improvements and new social infrastructure including schools and a health facility.
The SPD sets out principles and guidelines relating to ""Green Infrastructure and Landscape"" at Chapter 6.2 and ""Protecting Heritage and Archaeology"" at Chapter 6.5.
