Q1: Do you agree with the principle of introducing additional planning guidance for the Lidsing Garden Settlement in the form of a Supplementary Planning Document?

Representation ID: 3

Received: 03/11/2025

Respondent: Mr Michael Lee

Representation Summary:

From the plans seen this will adversely affect the roads into Hempstead, and Bredhurst, and these plans do not allow for any increased traffic flow on these roads. Whether these are Maidstone or Medway B.C. roads is immaterial as this will adversely affect the infrastructure of these communities.

Our response:

Comment noted.
Principles and guidelines relating to 'Movement & Connectivity' are set out at Chapter 6.6 which requires detailed assessments of impacts on the local and strategic road network and direct reference to minimise impacts on local lanes.
The SPD sets out additional guidance on the approach to transport assessment and mitigation (Chapter 7.3).
More detailed assessment of impacts and the design of transport mitigation measures will need to be set out as part of the formulation and consideration of future planning applications.
