Q34: Do you have any other comments on the Draft Supplementary Planning Document?

I am writing to raise my strong concerns regarding the above development and the immediate impact it will have on traffic in Bredhurst.
In the original consultation there was a lot of support for closing one end (Dunn Street) to traffic other than farm vehicles and buses
to go hand in hand with restricting traffic in Forge lane, This appears to have been dropped from the latest version.
I currently run a Police speedwatch group in Bredhurst and on average in rush hour you will see 500 plus cars using this rat run,
adding 2000 houses at Lisding will make this a nightmare, even with the 1st phase as all of the trades people as well as construction traffic will use this route.
If you are in any doubt take a drive around Hemstead and access the site from the other side, it will take you 20 -25 mins to do a 8 min journey.
Any restrictions for the development and Village need to be in place from day one regardless of how many homes will be done in phase 1
This should also be applied to the link road from the main roundabout at the m2 which again has been pushed back in the phasing.
I hope common sense prevails and current residents concerns are listened to, at least minimise the impact this vast development will have on our beautiful village / Countryside.
Comment noted.
The SPD sets out additional guidance on the approach to transport assessment and mitigation (Chapter 7.3). The SPD takes forward the requirements of Policy LPRSP4(B) of the Local Plan Review which established the necessary scope of infrastructure, which confirms the spur being opening in phase 2 (2033-2038).
The detailed design of transport mitigation measures including addressing off site impacts will need to be set out as part of the formulation and consideration of future planning applications.
