Dear Sir
Regarding the above mentioned plan, part of the Maidstone Boroughs housing plan. I wish to make comment as a concerned resident of Bredhurst.
Some time ago residents were asked for their views on the proposed development. I recall a number of comments were made, amongst which was an idea, to reduce the access of through traffic to the village. Of the proposals, one was paramount. The closure of both Forge Lane, and Dunn Street Road, in tandem. Failure to close off both would quite obviously just re route through traffic in either case. However I note in the recent consultation results that this has not been considered. I find it wholly unacceptable that this is the situation, in the light of other significant disruption to the village by the implementation of your housing plan.
I beg you to reconsider your approach and give the village a chance. Or I fear that the current rat run through to Medway, and Maidstone will just increase and become intolerable for residents and add to traffic accident increases, which I am sure is contrary to KCC policies.
Thank you for your consideration in this matter
Colin Grant

The SPD sets out additional guidance on the approach to transport assessment and mitigation (Chapter 7.3) with further detail provided in the accompanying Transport Annex. More detailed assessment of transport impacts and the design of transport mitigation measures will need to be set out as part of the formulation and consideration of future planning applications.
The SPD takes forward the requirements of Policy LPRSP4(B) of the Local Plan Review which established the necessary scope of infrastructure.
Figure 41 at Section D of the SPD replicates the required phasing of development and associated infrastructure.
Infrastructure will be secured through the use of planning conditions and legal agreements, as part of the consideration and determination of future planning applications.
