Sites should not be in local villages. The Brishings is one of the potential sites and is vulnerable to floodings. It has has very poor access and is very near the Leeds Road. This is a very busy road and thus it would be dangerous to have a site situated so close.
Existing sites should be enhanced, supported and extended if possible.
The Brishings has already been rejected several times for house building for various reason. Including inadequate access, flooding potential, proximity to the Leeds Road (very busy and dangerous), lack of local amenities such as schools, shops, public transport and doctors' surgeries. The Sutton Valence Medical Practice and the Orchard Practice in Langley are both full. In addition the influx of a large number of traveller families would overwhelm the local population.
The Brishings is not a suitable location. It has already been rejected for house building due to inadequate access, flooding and lack of local amenities. Access is mentioned via Green Lane. Green Lane is very narrow and totally unsuitable for access for all but small car.
Sites should not be near local villages so the local inhabitants will be 'swamped' by the influx of travelling families.
The Brishings does not have good access to schools, medical centres, shops and public transport. It is important to identify sites that provide those so travellers are not isolated and able to access schools, medical centres, shops and public transport.
